Hope Commons Modesto
a space for hospitality

Modesto is located in the Central Valley of California. We are a city with a great sense of community and compassion, geographically centered in an area rich with agriculture. Home town of George Lucas, we celebrate and annual annual “Graffiti Week” event in June, when hundreds of classic car aficionados parade their hot rods through town. There is also a thriving arts scene, with monthly showcases for visual artists through the downtown “Art Walk”. The Gallo Center for the Arts, also located downtown, hosts concerts and performances from a wide range of artists.
Modesto is a city of lovely murals. We are a community of celebration with many festivals throughout the year. And beautiful almond blossoms cover the valley every February. We also have the best tacos in the world. Prove us wrong!
Modesto is also conveniently close to a number of well-known California tourist attractions. San Francisco is about a 1.5 hour drive west. The beaches of Santa Cruz are also about an hour and a half away. Then there are the tall forests of Henry Cowell and Big Trees parks, also a relatively short drive away. And of course there is the world-renowned Yosemite National Park, featuring the mighty Half Dome, which is also not far from us.
There are many people and organizations working to bless the poor of their city, while striving to make positive changes in the areas of the arts, local politics, and business.
